Eight generations of tradition

The name is the guiding symbol of the Hotel. Quality and permanence are the hallmarks of hospitality at the Elephant.

We combine friendly service with a sense of tradition. The house was sold for the last time in the year 1773 and has been in the hands of the same family ever since. The owners are descendants of the famous tourism pioneer, Emma Hellenstainer. Whilst carefully maintaining a sense of history and tradition, they are also constantly looking into the future.

They themselves are always present at the Hotel, taking responsibility for looking after their guests. Today Elisabeth Heiss and her son Michael Falk represent the seventh and eighth generations to offer outstanding hospitality. Hence their motto: “Conscious of the past, looking to the future.”
