Our Villa Marzari in the park

The garden and private park of the Elephant Hotel, approximately 17.000 m2 in the city center of Bressanone, owes his name his former owner, the public officer Michael von Marzari. With his family, he lived in the villa which now serves as dependace of our hotel.

After Michael von Marzari, Mr Mayrhofer was the owner of this beautiful garden, when in 1872 the garden finally belonged to the "Elephant". At that time the house was run by Hanns Heiss and his wife Maria Mayr. The hotel owners in their 30s opened the house for the new tourism the Brenner railway (opened 1867) brought to South Tyrol.

The agreement for sale of the Marzari Villa as well as the unique garden dates 18th of April 1872. For the Elephant Hotel this purchase meant a leap in quality. Both garden and villa were immediately adapted for the hotel.

Today the tradition rich Villa Marzari has 14 individually designed rooms (Comfort double and single bedded rooms as well as Junior Suites), all equipped with balconies. You can book your room directly on our website.
